Zoom out to the whole day and a repeating three-act rhythm appears — the Power of Three (AMD): Accumulation → Manipulation → Distribution.
- Accumulation — price coils in a tight range (often the Asian session). Orders build; the crowd gets bored.
- Manipulation — a sharp fake move against the day's true direction, raiding the stops built up in accumulation. In ICT terms this false move is the Judas swing — it betrays the trapped traders.
- Distribution — the real move, in the opposite direction of the Judas swing, running to the day's target.
Why this is powerful. It reframes the most frustrating experience in trading — "I entered and it immediately went against me, then took off without me" — as a predictable phase, not bad luck. If you recognize the Judas swing as manipulation, you wait, let it sweep liquidity, and enter with the distribution leg instead of getting caught in the fake.
This is the same accumulate-manipulate-distribute cycle Wyckoff traders read over weeks, compressed into a single day. Same market, different lens — which is the perfect segue to the next module.
